The Process

The copywriting process can change slightly depending on the strategy, research and collaboration involved. But generally this is how it goes.

Step 1:

Call/Meet/Brief

Introductory call or zoom (or meet if you’re London-based) so I can learn about your business, your customers, and what you’d like to achieve.

Step 2:

Quote

I’ll use the information you provided to estimate the time needed for the project. If you’re happy you’ll pay the 50% deposit and I’ll get to work.

Step 3:

Research

I’ll dive into your business, industry, competitors and target audience. This can sometimes involve stakeholder interviews, workshops, and keyword research – whatever benefits the project.

Step 4:

Draft 1

You’ll provide feedback on the first draft. This is where we make sure the tone and messaging are hitting the right level.

Step 5:

Craft

I’ll use your feedback to craft and finetune the copy ensuring every single word has an impact on the page.

Step 6:

Draft 2

I’ll provide the second draft and action any final feedback (hopefully minor at this stage).

Step 7:

Approval / Sign Off

If you’re happy, I’m happy. And so begins our beautiful working relationship.
